LeQuicha Weems, MS

LeQuicha has been an educator for over 12 years. She began her educational journey after completing her Health Science degree (BS) at Oakwood College, now University. She completed and received her masters of arts in teaching (MAT) from Andrews University, located in Michigan.  She is a certified educator in the states of Alabama and Michigan. During her years of teaching she has educated middle and high school students in STEM subjects, predominantly math and science. She enjoys providing students with hands-on, real life experiences and connections to STEM. She whole-heartedly believes that every student can learn, especially when tapping into their own superpowers: Personal learning styles.

LeQuicha has been known to provide students with their lessons and allow them the space to creatively present knowledge as she assessed. Not only have her students created songs/jingles in her classes, but they have also become commercial editors, private investigators, engineers, entrepreneurs, journalists, scientists, and playwrights within their STEM lessons. She believes in providing students with a full educational experience that is one to remember, as students are encouraged to analyze and use critical thinking skills. Her student(s) have designed homes and buildings, created their own juice companies, and created food masterpieces in class.

LeQuicha has a habit of encouraging and celebrating hard work and achievements by facilitating end of quarter celebrations for her students. She adopted a personal logo for her 2 boys in 2020 and has currently adopted it for her students: "Young and Cape-able". All students are capable and as they use their super powers, they are super "cape-able"! Her students are incentivized with "Young and Cape-able" t-shirts and capes throughout this school year as they become more confident using their own super learning powers (personal learning styles).

As a college student she spent time in Malawi, Africa as an HIV/AIDS educator and is aspiring to continue to be of service to others locally and/or abroad. She is an aspiring author who is working towards the completion of her first book. She is also pursuing certification to become a health and wellness coach.
