Nathan Plank, MS

Nathan Plank is an experienced teacher with a wealth of experience both in and out of the classroom. He spent 6 years in the classroom, in which time he taught English, German, Drama to every grade level from 6th to 8th. He is certified in the state of Michigan in English and German, and he also holds certifications in AP English Language and Composition as well as AP English Literature and Composition. His greatest achievements in his teaching career were staging a production of The Mousetrap with a cast of mostly first time actors and leading the inaugural AP English Language and Composition class at his school to a 33% pass rate for students with no AP background. Nathan prides himself on his ability to take complex ideas, processes, and skills and make them easy to understand for even the most unprepared of learners.

After six years of teaching, Nathan took a "gap year" from teaching in order to gain experiences in other fields. Although this gap was extended by an untimely pandemic, Nathan used the time to explore many different fields. During this period, Nathan worked as an online ad evaluator, a Youth Supervisor in a  foster care institution, a DoorDash driver, and a property manager. Experiencing a wide range of training and helping several of his employers improve their training and development techniques has made him eager to  dive back into the field of education and use his knowledge and experience to improve the field of education. Nathan has used his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction to  improve the people around him in every circumstance in which he has found  himself.

When he is not actively involved in teaching or training, Nathan is often reading books, playing board  games, or tinkering with his 3D printer. He is an avid storyteller and  writer, and he hones these skills by playing tabletop roleplaying games. However, his ultimate long term goal is to be an excellent husband and father to his wife and future children.
