LaKeisha Williams, Ph.D

Dr. LaKeisha Williams has worked as an educator in diverse learning settings for nearly two decades to include special education K-12, elementary education K-6 and educational administration 9-12. LaKeisha truly understands the ins and outs of successfully educating a diverse group of learners. Currently, she works as a middle school special education inclusion teacher. She participates in collaboration, team building and specialized instruction on a daily basis while also engaging in a number of other tasks including writing, facilitating and updating individualized education plans for her students. Her students are diverse learners including students with learning disabilities, behavioral challenges and autism spectrum disorder. She also teaches a math skills class to help students foster and build math skills at their specific level.

LaKeisha has a bachelors in Elementary Education from Oakwood University. She also holds a masters in Special Education from Vanderbilt University as well as an educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University. Most recently, she completed a PhD in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Human Resource Development.

LaKeisha lives in Alabama with her husband and two teenage sons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and going on nature walks with their dog, Rocky, a rescued dog with loads of energy. In fact, as an avid storyteller, LaKeisha is actively working to write a children’s series on Rocky’s many adventures while walking in their neighborhood. The series will highlight various disabilities to provide a platform that normalizes disabilities by helping others to be comfortable when encountering them. LaKeisha is set to publish a children’s book this fall, which was written as a partnership with an after-school program in California. The story and artwork was fully conceptualized by the students. She is honored to partner as a scriptwriter to help bring the book to life! This project is just one of many to add to LaKeisha’s portfolio of custom songs and stories that she has developed for nonprofit and community organizations.
